Job Purpose Responsible for all purchasing decisions within the company, along with the management of UK and European suppliers. This will include occasional supplier visits to UK and European suppliers and carrying out supplier audits. Responsible for managing the company's supply chain processes, maximising production efficiencies whilst keeping the customer at the heart of all business decisions. Responsible for the coaching and development of the Supply Chain Team and overall responsibility for their functions (Planning, Transport and Warehouse). Direct Reports: 3 Key Responsibilities Negotiate prices and place purchase orders with UK and European suppliers Manage supplier performance and perform supplier audits (UK and EU) Order direct and indirect materials Perform inventory analyses to forecast future demand of raw materials and finished goods Ensure minimum stock levels of raw materials are always maintained Overall responsibility for inbound and outbound logistics operations Manage the sub-contracted coating processes Maintain and improve Bill of Material accuracy Develop and improve existing supply chain processes and procedures Communication & Contacts Regular face to face, verbal and written communication with external suppliers and sub-contractors. Significant requirement to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal departments, external customers and external hauliers People Management : Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and works with a continuous improvement mentality Set and measure departmental objectives / KPI’s, review and assess ongoing performance of all direct reports. Financial Respon sib ility : Responsibility for the purchasing and transport budgets Equipment Use a PC, Microsoft packages and ERP System.
