Bursary Officer
Morgan Hunt is working with a College in South West London who are looking at recruiting a Bursary Officer. This is a 4 month contract (perm possibility) role paying up to £19 p/hour and will offer hybrid working outside of term time.
To be the lead officer in administering applications from, and payments to, eligible learners. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role is responsible for accurate recording, processing, communicating and liaising on the use of available funds.
Key Responsibilities of the Bursary Officer:
1. Lead the administration of payments to students via various funding streams (GLA AEB, ESFA, Free meal allocations, Adult Learner Loan bursary).
2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for bursary payments.
3. Coordinate with childcare providers and manage free meal distribution.
4. Oversee GoHenry cards, process TfL applications, and ensure LSF compliance for educational visits.
5. Assist with invoicing, tuition fee collection, and debt recovery.
6. Arrange payment plans for students in financial difficulties and perform credit control duties.
7. Set up new suppliers, raise Purchase Orders, and process invoices.
8. Ensure smooth supplier payment runs and resolve account queries.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Bursary Officer:
9. Must have worked within Higher / Further Education.
10. Have an understanding of LSF / ESFA / GLA AEB guidelines.
11. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
12. Candidates who hold an Enhanced DBS will be preferred.
