An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Clyde Theatres Service as a member of the Lead Nurse team.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual with a Theatres background and experience of working within an Acute care environment. Candidates applying should be able to demonstrate both professional and operational service delivery, leadership and managerial skills encompassing key service delivery objectives, quality assurance and staff governance. You will be responsible to the sub-directorate senior management team and also the sector Chief Nurse.
Inverclyde Royal Hospital Theatres consist of 6 main suites and 1 suite within DSU along with a procedure room.
The Royal Alexandra Hospital Theatres consist of 9 main suites and 2 suites in Day surgery.
In addition to the Royal Alexandra Hospital site, there is cover provided to the Maternity unit for C-Section births.
The Vale of Leven Hospital Theatres is a DSU and consists of 3 Theatre suites and 1 procedure room.
The Theatre suites provide peri-op care for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures including, Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, elective Orthopaedics, Trauma Orthopaedics, ophthalmology and cardiology, ENT and Dental. Both the Inverclyde Royal Hospital and Royal Alexandra Hospital sites also provide access to emergency Theatres (CEPOD).
The Clyde Theatres team also participate in the Robotic Assisted Surgery programme held at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
This post is based in Inverclyde Royal Hospital but will require cross cover within Clyde Theatres as required. The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service, which runs over a 24 hour, 7 day week. The hours are two x 9.25 shifts per week within a Monday – Friday period, with no fixed days and expectation is to evenly spread and be flexible to the service requirements.
Applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and have an interest in working in the peri-operative environment. You should be educated to degree or masters level and also have current professional registration with the NMC.
Shortlisted applicants as a minimum requirement must be able to demonstrate they have worked at a senior band 7 AfC level.
