Bradley's Practice - We have 1 full-time and 2 Part-Time Receptionist roles based at both of our sites, Mold and Buckley. Hours of work can vary from 07:45 am - 18:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
The role of a receptionist is to be the welcoming face of the practice, dealing with telephone calls and visitors in an effective manner. The work is varied and interesting and can be challenging.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is capable of working on their own initiative and also who can work well with others. You would need to be well-organised and patient-focused. Excellent IT skills are an advantage as most of the work involves using PCs on a daily basis. Previous reception experience would also be advantageous.
Job responsibilities
Operating Telecommunications System
1. Receive and make Practice telephone calls, e.g. dealing with patient queries.
2. Maintain a telephone directory of necessary telephone contacts.
3. Receive and record messages for Doctors and other members of staff, ensuring that any information about unresolved matters is passed on.
Operation Of Computer Clinic System
1. Add and cancel appointments on the computerised system.
2. Identify patient details, collate information and pass to navigation team.
3. Report faults with hardware or software relating to the Vision medical system to supervisor.
4. Input requests for Home Visits onto the computer.
5. Use Electronic Mail to send and receive messages, internally and externally.
Receive and Assist Patients
1. Deal with patient enquiries including registering patients, explaining surgery procedures and giving general advice relating to non-clinical issues.
2. Identify and pass on patient prescription sheets.
3. Collect and record dispensing/private fees and provide receipts where applicable.
4. Inform patients of complaints procedures and log any informal complaints.
5. Order ambulance transport for patients when required.
Retrieve and File Medical Notes
1. Retrieve and forward medical notes to GPs, Practice Nurses and other Health Care Professionals when requested.
2. Retrieve and forward necessary claim forms to GPs and other Health Care Professionals.
3. Prepare and file records and any documents for clinics.
4. File and extract records and any documents required in the Doctors' general work.
Stock Control
1. Ensure an adequate supply of stationery, documents, bottles, etc.
Maintain Reception Area
1. Ensure any displays/patient notices are kept tidy and up to date.
2. Ensure the reception desk is attended at all times.
Security of Premises
1. Open and close premises when necessary.
