We are incredibly excited to be working with this fantastic client in support of their search for a Financial Accountant to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a part or fully qualified accounts professional to join a business with sustainability at its heart. A growing Cornish organisation with impressive expansion and development plans. The role is being offered on a full-time permanent basis of 37 hours per week. Hybrid office/home working available so must be located within a reasonable commuting distance to their H/O in Truro.
Reporting to and working alongside the Financial Controller the role will oversee major areas of the financial management of the business. To include producing and maintaining financial models for the annual business plan, ensuring that postings and reconciliations are consistent with the requirements of FRS102, ensuring that all statutory requirements are adhered to and involvement in the budgeting and forecasting process.
The role will help to develop and maintain long and short-term financial plans and strategies to ensure finances are available to meet agreed commitments. Also to ensure that the finances available will be maximised so that major projects are delivered in line the business expectations, objectives and priorities.
To create and adapt financial models that support the strategic decision making in an evolving environment that will enable the company to maximise the benefits of new opportunities.
Key duties/dimensions of the role:
* Annual financial accountability
* Along with the financial controller responsible for financial modelling and budgeting for the production of the annual business plan.
* Management accountability
* Work with other financial resources (internal or third party) to deliver required outputs.
* Work with external advisors to ensure all financial compliance matters are completed.
* Create standard forecasting and modelling tools to model both financial and related metric data to promote effective decision making to ensure maximum use of resources.
* Contribute to the business plan/budget and the performance management process to ensure that targets are set and achieved.
* Provide information and analysis to allow directors to understand and manage overall financial health and liquidity.
* Implement and maintain agreed financial and commercial controls.
* Provide advice on financial management and business controls consistent with the objectives and Business Plan of the business.
* Liaise with project teams, providing financial support and modelling business plan and cash flows where required.
* Work with the Financial Controller to interpretate information provided by the management account.
* Lead on reporting to NROSH and ensure that financial requirements are adhered to.
* Produce statutory accounts and submit to Companies House.
* File dormant accounts and confirmation statements.
* Manage information in line with policies, procedures and guidance on subjects such as Data Protection, confidentiality, information security and sharing, the information lifecycle and data quality, to ensure compliance and efficient and effective information governance.
* Maintain awareness of policies and practices regarding the safeguarding of children, young people and/ or adults who may be at risk. Report concerns/ allegations in accordance with corporate guidance and procedures.
* Work to eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and report incidents as they occur. Treat everyone with dignity and respect and ensure individual’s needs are met. Challenge inappropriate behaviour and language constructively, advising on alternatives so the opportunity for change can be considered.
* Drive to continually improve customer satisfaction and maintain a clear and consistent focus on delivering outstanding customer experience.
* Proactively manage health and safety risks and lead on the creation of a positive health and safety culture to safeguard the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others. Understand your health and safety responsibilities and lead on compliance with council policy and procedures.
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
* Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA/ CIPFA).
* Experience producing and maintaining financial models.
* Experience within business finance/performance roles and financial control roles.
* Experience in ensuring financial accounting is consistent with the requirements of FRS102.
* Proven experience of responding to and working with external auditors, providing analysis, forecasting, planning, supporting and managing commercial business to make optimal operational decisions.
* Experience of financially supporting business deals (new contracts, ventures etc.).
* Proven experience of successful financial management including budget formulation, financial planning, monitoring and control, within tight financial limits in a complex organisation.
