Draw on a diverse range of knowledge in making decisions to determine evidence-based therapeutic interventions (which will usually include prescribing medication and actively monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic psychological interventions). Use professional judgement in managing complex and unpredictable care events and capture the learning from these experiences to improve patient care and service delivery. Undertake weekly assessments of all inpatients under their care, addressing issues and assessing and managing risks identified. Prepare reports encompassing medical and advanced nurse practitioner interventions in readiness for CPA meetings. Play an active role in multi-professional meetings. Independent and supplementary prescribing- practicing within local and national policy and guidance. Undertake health promotion and prevention activities including, for example, educating patients in the side effects of medication and lifestyle choices. Develop individualised discharge summaries on behalf of the Responsible Clinician. Identify, minimise and report risks of danger, harm or abuse.
