Position Description An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Writer to work as part of the Product Development Department. This role will be responsible for aiding the creation, release and maintenance of technical literature for standard and bespoke products developed by Airedale by Modine, utilising the Adobe Creative suite and using the latest techniques to ensure that professionally finished, fully descriptive information is provided to customers to aid in decision making, installation, service, commissioning and maintenance of products. The role will focus on providing the customer with useful, relevant and up-to-date product information in an appropriate and effective manner. Key Responsibilities Produce all new technical literature in electronic format for all standard products in agreed language sets and required format for distribution and printing for customers, sales, and all technical staff as required. Aid the generation of assembly and maintenance drawings in appropriate design package for integration into literature. Maintain all existing technical literature keeping it up to date with design and legislation changes. Work closely with the Marketing team to support the addition and maintenance of technical information on the Airedale by Modine website. Manage translation of technical literature packages, liaising with external agency for translation, proofing and distributing to customer where required Maintain a library of past technical literature for reference on an on-going basis and maintain a change record system. Ensure the latest standards and legislature are accurately reflected and fully integrated into literature, across the full range of technical documentation (technical manuals, controls manuals, installation and maintenance documents, commissioning sheets, declarations of conformity, loose parts instructions, test sheets, etc). Engage with the engineering and manufacturing teams throughout the literature development process to ensure the most useful, accurate and relevant information is presented. Identify and implement initiatives to improve the technical literature library and processes, to streamline the technical literature creation and maintenance processes and the costs associated with its production. Maintain the records and registers for the technical literature library. Manage the document obsolescence process, including the retention and preservation of previous revisions and documentation associated with obsolete products. Any other roles required by this position. Required Education & Qualifications Excellent content writing / literacy skills are required, ideally with an A level in English or degree level qualification in a relevant field. Experience of the following software: Microsoft Office Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign) Be able to communicate effectively at all levels and work with a range of stakeholders.
