I am a 17 year old young man, who loves music, and I’m looking for an understanding, compassionate and patient person to support me during the school holidays. I enjoy, going out for a walk, especially along the local seafront or into the forest, going swimming and going to the cinema. I have a severe learning difficulty, and on the autistic spectrum so experience of working with these conditions is preferable. I am non verbal and communicate mostly by facial expressions and body language. Sometimes I can communicate with PECS and objects of reference. I can get agitated and hit myself, but not others, I usually calm down quickly by myself, or may need to be distracted.
Duties include:
Medication prompting/administering
Eating and drinking assistance
Moving and handling
Other relevant duties as required
Cooking
Transportation
Companionship
Dressing / undressing
Bathroom assistance
I use a wheelchair when going to busy places such as shopping centres or the supermarket
Candidate qualities:
