We’re looking for an organised, focused and proactive individual to take on the role of Director’s Assistant at our thriving, family-run business.
About the Business
Our business started over 60 years ago and has been in the same family ever since. From our very humble beginnings, we have grown to be in the top 50 car dealers in the country. Across our 21 businesses, we have a stable workforce of over 600 people, many of whom have been with us for years. We are always on the lookout for nice, genuine people who genuinely care about our customers and have a can-do attitude.
Our recruitment philosophy is that we recruit for attitude and train for skills, which means that although we’re often looking for specific technical skills, if you like working with customers and you are attracted by our Family Values of Fit, Fun, Family, and Fearless, you’ll fit in well here and we’d like to hear from you even if you have no experience of the automotive industry.
We offer manufacture training for product knowledge to give you the technical skills you need, and we work with our own world-class sales trainer who will give you everything you need to be a “top one percenter”.
We’ll expect you to work hard but in return we’ll offer you an industry-leading package, flexible working hours, and a real opportunity to progress: we prefer to promote from within and you will see this in every one of our sites. You must possess an outrageous ambition to want to be the best and you won’t let anyone stop you.
About the role and about you
The role will be largely administrative, so a meticulous eye for detail is necessary. You will be expected to handle conflicting deadlines and make/manage bookings with external providers to ensure our sites are compliant and able to function at 100% efficiency. You will liaise with companies to schedule important matters such as PAT/ Fire extinguisher tests and fixed appliance testing to name a few. As Director’s Assistant, you will oversee the creation of Health and Safety Manuals to allow for company-wide consistency, ensuring these are updated and maintained as and when necessary.
At D M Keith, brand standards are everything. As Director’s Assistant, you will aid in building and maintaining our corporate brand identity - liaising with representatives of our Brands to ensure we’re meeting and surpassing standards, and reporting back to the Director on any relevant findings/improvements that need to be made to allow us to continue delivering world-class customer service.
There will be an aspect of diary management, so an ability to prioritise and multi-task will be essential. The chosen candidate will be expected to work with the utmost confidentiality, maintaining D M Keith standards at all times.
Our ideal candidate will be conscientious, logical, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. If this sounds like you, apply now!
What we offer:
1. Preferential rates for servicing and repairs on your family and friend’s cars.
2. Flexible hours for the right candidate.
3. Cycle to work scheme.
4. £25 contribution to eye tests.
5. Long Service Awards.
Working location
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work from a variety of base locations for this position. However, there is an expectation of travel for this role including trips to our Head Office in Leeds.
Candidates will need a full UK driving license and access to their own vehicle to be able to reliably commute to and from sites.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, religion, disability or other characteristics.
