Ecological Consultant | London OR Manchester | 4-day working week (2 days in the office) | £26,000 – £35,000 per annum

The Opportunity:
The Civils & Infrastructure Team at Ford & Stanley are currently working in partnership with an award-winning Ecological Consultancy to find an Ecological Consultant to join their ever-growing Ecology Consultancy Services business unit. Known for a strong commitment to sustainability, they are a certified B-Corp, meeting high standards in social and environmental impact. They support eco-friendly initiatives, including tree-planting and biodiversity projects, to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental stewardship.
This position would be well-suited to an experienced Ecologist or Senior Ecologist who would like to work across a diverse array of sectors and operate with a high level of autonomy, whilst maintaining a great work/life balance, courtesy of a business-wide 4-day working week!

Key Responsibilities
1. Undertaking UK Habitat Classification Surveys and protected species surveys.
2. Building tenders and creating quotations.
3. Producing complex technical reports (PEA reports, BNG reports, protected species reports, Habitat Management Plans, BREEAM reports, HRAs and EcIAs).
4. Managing medium to large-sized projects with the ability to track financial progress.
5. Logistical and legislative problem-solving.
Interview Criteria
1. A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in ecological consultancy or less if the required skills can be demonstrated from other employment.
3. Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.
4. Be a holder of a Protected Species Licence or working towards one.
5. Proven experience in conducting and leading a variety of ecological surveys.
