The School:
We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work across the board in a school based in Broadstairs. The right person will be working in our Autism school, both in the day school and residential care home, supporting small classes of students with low ability who need academic as well as social development. There are 5-6 students in a class with one-to-one Teaching and Learning Support Assistants.
Our young people have struggled in mainstream education and need a positive experience. The majority of pupils are on EHCP and have been diagnosed with ADHD and/or Autism. The support worker will become part of a team that specializes in delivering a curriculum designed to meet individual needs and give our students the best possible educational outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
* Able to work with groups or 1:1 support within the classroom
* Supporting pupils with complex needs, Autism & learning difficulties
* Supervising pupils' behavior
* Encouraging, engaging, and supporting pupils with their learning & development
About the School: This is a specialist school for autism and complex needs located in the Kent area. The school serves secondary school pupils referred from all the boroughs in London and surrounding areas. They have residential accommodation for students on-site, based in a stately home surrounded by fields and nature, utilizing the area to aid in theory, behavior management, and understanding of environments. The school has many staff trained in team teach and personal care, and has gone from strength to strength to ensure accessibility for the students.
We look for candidates to work one-to-one and in small groups with the students. You must be enthusiastic and have the knowledge or willingness to learn and be trained to work with SEND.
The school is located next to Broadstairs and offers car parking for staff on-site.
You must have:
* Experience working with children with SEN, Autism, ADHD, or SLD
* A commitment to ongoing professional development
* An excellent knowledge of the specialist curriculum area and how it may be effectively taught
