Operations Manager – Commercial Enterprise Unit (CEU)
It's a fantastic time to join PIB and work as part of our Client Enterprise Unit based out of our Gloucester office.
This fantastic opportunity sits within our collaborative and fast paced Commercial Enterprise Unit (CEU). The CEU is an integral part of our Specialty division that provides an advisory broker service to commercial and consumer clients across the UK.
The Role:
Drive the co-ordination and execution of CEU Operations policies and, where applicable, wider PIB Operations policies, ensuring that operational initiatives and best practices are uniformly implemented across CEU.
Responsibilities:
1. Follow the direction set by CEU and wider PIB business.
2. Provide support to the trading teams across CEU.
3. Lead business operational change programmes across CEU and work with the rest of CEU leadership and extended leadership to ensure timely implementation with no adverse business impact.
4. Lead on the development, gaining agreement to, and direct the uniform implementation of robust, compliant operational plans, practices and processes across CEU.
5. Support and lead the establishment of and then monitoring of a robust, practical CEU business oversight framework to underpin operational excellence.
6. Ensure the operational aspects of client requirements are fully met and treating customers fairly is embedded into day-to-day working practices.
7. Ensure that appropriate business process measurements and protocols are in place to monitor the operational performance of all areas of the business. Analyse working practices, trends, reports and make recommendations to CEU leadership team.
8. Work with the central Operations team to implement and monitor adherence to operational improvement initiatives within CEU that go across all of PIB.
9. Ensure that processes and measures are in place for monitoring and maintaining standards of business conduct, which are consistent with PIB best practice. Ensure all internal and external compliance and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
10. Work with all CEU leaders to assist in ensuring robust performance management and training and competence processes are in place.
11. Support the MD for CEU in ensuring that CEU's operational strategy is translated into local actions and implemented on time and within budget across CEU.
12. Lead the review of current operational processes across CEU to ensure they are fit for purpose.
13. Actively participate in regular business operations meetings to ensure issues are highlighted and recommendations for improvements are communicated.
Experience:
Essential:
1. Degree qualified or equivalent experience/industry related qualifications.
2. At least 5 years relevant experience within General Insurance/Broking Sector.
3. 2+ years in a Team Leader or Operational role within the insurance industry.
4. Knowledge of FCA requirements and standards.
5. Strong communicator.
6. Commercial insurance experience.
7. Acturis experience.
8. Track record of teamwork.
9. Experience in an operational environment.
10. Experience of project management.
11. Operational and/or analytical mindset.
12. Strong MS Office skills.
