AMS Nuclear Engineering Ltd (AMS) designs, builds and supplies Control & Instrumentation based systems across the UK’s nuclear industry, whether that be into the nuclear new build, nuclear power generation, decommissioning or defence sectors. Projects vary from small scoping and feasibility studies to the design of complex systems with high integrity safety functions. Our engineers typically have multiple projects progressing at any one time ensuring a good variety of work.
With engineering and manufacturing facilities all under one roof, the AMS team get to oversee projects from conception through to delivery meaning continuity of resource and quick feedback loops benefiting the client and the team alike.
We now have an opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join the team delivering exceptional solutions to our clients.
What you’ll be doing
The Project Coordinator sits within the Projects Department managing small projects and supporting the Project Manager on larger projects AMS is contracted to deliver.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project management
1. Building project plans for new projects (small/medium sized)
2. Keeping project plans up-to-date by liaising with Engineering, Workshop and Supply Chain personnel for progress updates
3. Liaising with the project stakeholders, ensuring they are suitably informed and involved during all stages of the project
4. Maintaining a project risk register
5. Representing AMS in project meetings with clients
Reporting
1. Generating project status summaries for Management
2. Generating monthly project accruals
3. Reporting progress on projects both internally and externally
Bid support
1. Generation of project milestone payment plans
2. Generation of high-level project plans
Project administration
1. Complete all project administration, e.g., GCs, RFIs, time booking calculations.
2. Expediting payment certificates from clients
3. Sending accruals and payment requests to customers
4. Keeping invoicing database and Order Book spreadsheets up-to-date
5. Assisting with project financial forecasting
The role will require the candidate to complete all the tasks ensuring that the company standards are maintained and improved. Ensuring all work is compliant with our ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.
At all times the person is responsible for complying with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and guidance.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Accountable to: Senior Project Manager
Key resource available to Post: Administration Support
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
Workplace: 1604-1605 Carnival Way, North Petherton, Bridgwater, TA6 6GY or at any other location of the Company’s direction including various customer and supplier sites.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Optional 4- or 5-day working week. Same hours worked per week but spread over either Monday -Thursday or Monday to Friday.
What you’ll need
We are looking for someone with the following:
1. Ideally, qualified to HNC/HND or degree level in a relevant field.
2. Demonstrate a commitment to professional development. It is expected that the project coordinator role will with appropriate training and experience develop into a project management professional ensuring the project management activities support the organisation’s strategic goals.
3. Ability to be flexible and adaptable in work practices and be able to influence and negotiate.
4. To be focused consistently on delivery and be able to escalate appropriately to resolve issues.
5. Display professionalism and competency in performing assigned tasks that consistently result in quality outcomes.
6. Able to build relationships, working with the operations/engineering teams and clients.
7. Show evidence of understanding and working to company procedures and their effect on all areas of business.
8. Commercial awareness, developing a knowledge of business case production, budgets, income management and margins.
