Assistant Fire Safety Advisor - Primarily the delivery of fire safety training across the organisation. This will include, Clinical and non-clinical, fire wardens, and the safe use of ski pads. Also to assist where needed with other administrative tasks consistent with the JD., Delivery of training
Assist with other administrative tasks as required consistent with the Job Description., Undertakes the training of staff throughout the University Hospital of North Midlands in fire precautions and safety, in accordance with the Fire Training programme to achieve compliance in fire training requirements and achievement of 95% Trust target.
Arranges fire drills and practical demonstrations of use of first aid fire fighting equipment, in liaison with appropriate managers and agreed programme of work.
Deals with fire in box general enquiries and correspondence giving advice and support on fire safety related matters as required and directed by team workload requirements.
Manages records of training activity and staff attendance to support data collation and reporting Trust and Divisional wide.
Undertakes regular inspections of all premises to ensure compliance with fire safety standards in accordance with current legislation/guidance (including Firecode).
Ensures that fire alarms, first aid fire fighting equipment, escape lighting is regularly maintained and tested.
Ensures that fire exits and fire escapes are regularly maintained and remain free from obstruction in liaison with responsible persons.
Ensure that appropriate fire safety notices are prominently displayed in all Trust premises and arranges for replacements or updates to be undertaken as required.
Maintains records of all fire survey/inspection activity.
Advises external contractors on fire precautions/preventions.
Prepares fire incident reports as necessary and maintains appropriate records.
Undertakes such other reasonable duties as may be delectated from time to time by the Trust Fire and Security Manager.
