Our Practice Education Team will support you through a supernumerary period during your orientation to the ward. Following orientation and completion of relevant competencies, you will have the opportunity to access university-based post-graduate courses or stand-alone courses as part of our investment in our staff.
Princess Alexandra Ward is a 35 bedded surgical ward, delivering high quality care to patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgery.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the ward manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of nursing care and staff development.
To be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of student nurses and unqualified staff on the ward.
The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care with provisions of preceptorship/mentorship.
To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified.
