About the Role:
We are seeking a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to support a 7-month engineering construction project in Deeside, Flintshire. The project involves plant and steel erection activities within the paper mill in Shotton. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting site teams to maintain best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and regulations across the site.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, providing reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
Support project teams in developing and implementing safe systems of work.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and management to maintain high safety standards.
Requirements:
✅ NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety
✅ Previous experience in engineering/construction HSE advisory roles
✅ Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and UK HSE legislation
✅ Ability to work proactively, influence safety culture, and promote best practices
✅ Excellent communication and report-writing skills
