SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving Catholic Primary School in Barnet. This is an incredible opportunity to support a Year 1 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who is pre-verbal and academically behind but has made significant progress in settling into school life.
The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored, 1:1 support to this student, using a caring and patient approach to help them thrive. Your responsibilities will include:
• Utilising visual aids and sensory tools to engage and support learning.
• Assisting with self-care needs.
• Managing and responding to challenging behavior with empathy and understanding.
• Working closely with the classroom teacher and SENCO to implement individualized learning plans.
This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, resilient, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
