Robertson Geo is a global company based in North Wales that designs, develops and manufactures market leading geophysical wireline technologies. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer to join our multi-disciple engineering team.
You will be part of a 11 strong engineering team, working through the transitions from concept to manufacturing. You will be responsible for development of advanced downhole logging electronic systems and products and ensuring that the critical specifications are identified appropriately. You will oversee the transition from prototype to final production, ensuring that all documentation is meticulously prepared and that the products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and innovation.
Additionally, the diverse range of geophysical measurements, communicated over 3000 meters of wireline conductor, adds further complexity to these engineering problems
Design and analyse electronic circuits, with a focus on both analogue and digital components, including amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and power supplies.
Develop and integrate Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) into complex system designs.
Create firmware for various microcontrollers and microprocessors using programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and VHDL.
Use of high-temperature electronics and address the associated challenges in design and performance.
Creating test plans and conducting functional, performance, and reliability tests using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers) to validate designs.
Ensuring designs meet electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) standards
Provide practical engineering support for products in transition from prototyping through to production
