About the role Are you looking for a global role to accelerate your growth and development? We have opened a Finance Director position supporting our R&D organisation. The role is part of the Global R&D Leadership team and has reporting lines into the Head of Value Management Office (VMO) and, Global Functions Finance. As such, this role will work closely with our Global Head of R&D, their leadership teams and sub functions. This is a Global Finance Director role will be accountable for control of consolidated financial planning, forecasting, reporting for the R&D Costs and, the translation of this data into actionable commercial business insights. You will also provide ongoing financial and strategic insight to actively contribute to shaping and delivery of overall financial targets and performance. The Finance Director is a commercial finance business partner who is able to support and guide the R&D business through the use of commercial acumen, strategic insight, rigorous analysis, proactive challenge, and exceptional execution. This is a highly commercial strategic role with the ability to remain hands on where required. It is required to give executive support and guidance on key functional projects/ subjects to help drive delivery and other change / strategic initiatives across the function. You’ll enjoy the challenge of a fast-paced, problem-solving environment that requires you to think and act quickly to address strategic and day-to-day business priorities. Key responsibilities include: Leading the preparation of plans and latest estimates for R&D (OPEX, CAPEX, OE, Working Capital). Develop and drive guidance, instructions, and timetables. Control data capture, consolidation and input/reconciliation to reporting systems. Coordinate and drive review meetings with the Head of R&D and CEO/CFO. Demonstrate senior-level expertise in Finance topics to support the R&D business. Proactively collaborate with the R&D Leadership Team and Procurement along with other Functional and business unit professionals to drive strategy, cost optimization, attainment of savings goals, and the mitigation of risk. Lead robust capital investment process for R&D assets, drive analysis, challenge for resource allocation and investment decisions, particularly around capital asset investment, capability transformations and major global platforms Demonstrate experience of working in a global setting, commercial acumen, strategic insight, rigorous analysis, proactive challenge, and exceptional execution. Manage Innovation / Maintenance project prioritisation and provide robust challenge to investment plans to ensure the maximum return for R&D investments across the company, ensuring strong partnership with counterparts in the Finance business unit and, the wider business. Be a thought leader and strong partner to the Head of R&D leadership team across all Financial aspects. Provide challenge and direction to the leadership team on BAU, business cases and projects. Effectively lead and develop a high performing team of finance professionals that support the global function Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree Experience in a commercial finance business partnering role having demonstrated experience in financial controlling and/or FP&A with a similar seniority in similar global matrix organisation Demonstrated experience of working directly with senior business stakeholders, cross functional stakeholders and, executive team leaders Understanding of Finance specific topics on return on investment, Project financial metrics (NPV / IRR) etc. Experience leading and developing diverse teams Proven track record of thinking strategically to effectively partner non-finance stakeholders in order to support the execution of their business plans Ability to act as a catalyst for change through strong finance partnering and leadership Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders and ask the right questions to achieve the optimal outcome Preferred Requirements: MBA or Accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) LOC Finance, Supply Chain and / or FMCG industry experience Experience with SAP, Power BI Able to see the big picture and think beyond immediate area of responsibility Diversity, Equity and Inclusion At Haleon we embrace our diverse workforce by creating an inclusive environment that celebrates our unique perspectives, generates curiosity to create unmatched understanding of each other, and promotes fair and equitable outcomes for everyone.
