We are currently recruiting for an Assistant LNG Terminal Engineer onsite at Grain to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of Grain LNG’s assets through the efficient maintenance activities of the terminal control and safety systems, incorporating all aspects of operation, modification, and maintenance activities.
As an Assistant LNG Terminal Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and time-bound completion of a range of duties on Control System equipment as required including maintenance, fault investigation and equipment repair, modification, delivery of minor operational projects, assistance with commissioning activities, to ensure optimum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, safety, and security.

The role is based on-site at Grain (Kent) and due to the location you will need to be able to drive there and must have a full clean licence.
Key Accountabilities
* Work closely with Process, Commercial operations, key stakeholders, and contracting partners to drive maximum efficiency through the delivery of the annual plan.
* Ensure training needs are identified within your relevant area, to ensure you are competent and have the necessary flexibility to meet current and future workload requirements.
* Be responsible for data recording to support accurate management and regulatory reporting of KPI’s.
* Ensure full and detailed records are maintained on system changes.
* Ensure availability and reliability of all safety and process critical systems is maintained.
* Partake in appropriate standby cover and emergency response readiness to meet the requirements of the terminal’s EIMS.
* Work with and supervise contract personnel undertaking project or maintenance work.
* Carry out and complete work unsupervised and in potentially remote locations (within site boundary).
* Be responsible for adherence to terminal’s safety guidelines including “Golden Rules”, with completion of appropriate documentation (MoC, NRO, PTW, etc.) ensuring procedures are developed, maintained, and implemented appropriately.

* Innovative and forward-thinking capability with a good understanding of gas installation plant and process machinery.
* Customer orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
* Experienced fault-finding capabilities.
* Field control and instrumentation.
* ICSS, Stand Alone PLC’s, SCADA and DCS systems.
* Safety Systems, Programmable Emergency Shutdown, HIPPS and Fire & Gas detection systems.
* Industry standards including, COMAH, ATEX, DSEAR, EMMUA 191, BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511 & UKAS.
* Cyber Security – Secure Industrial Automated Control System (IACS) fundamentals.
* Post apprenticeship control systems experience in the pharmaceutical or petrochemical environment is advantageous.
* Experience with project development and delivery within the IACS environment is a bonus.
