Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grants & Fundraising Coordinator to join our team.
Lead all aspects of Grants and fundraising: writing grant applications, managing events, publicising Memories are Golden through social media channels and the website and other external publicity such as local media.
You will implement and lead a Fundraising Sub-Committee, which identifies funding opportunities, and put together a fundraising strategy.
You will also manage all aspects of non-financial donations such as furniture, food etc. This includes taking enquiries from donors, sending out appeals and logging and managing stock as necessary.
You will be required to represent the charity at community events which may include working some evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the implementation and execution of the charities’ fundraising strategy to meet year-end goals.
2. Develop and implement a strategy for individual and corporate supporter recruitment and development.
3. Research and apply to charitable trusts and foundations whose criteria match the charity's aims and activities.
4. Develop, prepare, write, and submit grants, proposals, applications, and reporting.
5. Send thank you’s to donors.
6. Prepare and compile all components of each grant submission, ensuring that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements.
7. Prepare all relevant grants and funding materials including narratives describing program activities, concept papers, detailed expenditure reports, and success stories.
8. Maintain a portfolio of active and pending grants and provide monthly status reports.
9. Stay current with foundation trends and giving priorities.
10. Maintain databases and systems for recording and tracking grant proposals, awards, and related statistical information.
11. Create and distribute standard and special reports, studies, summaries, and analyses, as required.
12. Develop and maintain a library of reference documentation, including funding agency requirements and forms, profiles and curriculum vitae, abstracts and reference literature, and other pertinent material.
13. Facilitate and support the research and identification of funding opportunities on behalf of investigators, as appropriate.
14. Monitor and coordinate the administration of post-award grants to ensure that budgeting and administrative policies, procedures, and agency requirements are being followed.
15. Manage administrative problems and/or budget changes occurring during the awarded granting period.
16. Maintain a grant calendar of upcoming application and reporting deadlines.
17. Maintain currency of knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures.
18. Organise corporate fundraising, including employee giving and matched giving from employers.
19. Liaise with, motivate, and assist current supporters in maximising the funds they raise.
20. Organise traditional activities, such as sponsored outdoor events and street collections.
21. Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising, including giving pages, online auctions.
22. Develop new and imaginative fundraising activities, including events.
23. Undertake return-on-investment analyses in order to prioritise the most worthwhile fundraising activities.
24. Raise awareness of the charity and its work, e.g. giving talks to groups or seeking photo opportunities with the media.
25. Manage website content and posts on social media.
26. Manage stock of publicity material including leaflets, banners, and T-shirts.
27. Identify volunteers to carry out roles within the charity relevant to fundraising/publicity.
28. Manage and update databases to record donor contact and preference information.
29. Create a management report for the Board of Trustees of Grants and funds.
30. Ensure all activities and events are risk assessed and information shared with all staff and volunteers.
31. Create and maintain a scrapbook of all events, compliments, and successes for the charity.
