About the Job
We are looking for a hardworking and methodical individual, who is passionate about technology, to help develop and maintain Microsoft solutions within UEL’s End User Computing (EUC) environment. This position will provide technical leadership and deep understanding around Microsoft and Apple Modern Desktop technologies, develop and maintain solutions that provide a great user experience, and be the drive behind keeping UEL at the forefront of emerging EUC technologies. You will provide a point of escalation for Operations teams, maintain accuracy and relevance of documentation and lead on ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and secure by design.
* Take responsibility for the development and implementation of new EUC solutions to deliver applications in the right way, at the right time, to the right users.
* Deep understanding of Microsoft Windows and Apple offerings, including approaches to platform migrations and management best practices.
* Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends and apply to UEL’s solutions and processes as applicable. Evangelising the business benefits of new approaches as necessary, whilst communicating the impact and implication of adoption.
* Ensure current solutions are fit for purpose, deliver to expectations and maintained to best practices.
* Lead on customer solution engagements and translate business needs into tangible technical solutions, highlighting any gaps in systems or processes needed to achieve those goals.
* Subject matter expert in EUC solutions, attending internal and external meetings in that capacity. Ensuring great stakeholder engagement and maintaining EUC relationships into the wider university.
About You
We are looking for a versatile individual with a methodical approach, a genuine interest in EUC technologies and a desire to own and shape key technologies supporting thousands of staff and students. The ability to identify inefficiencies and fix issues is important. The applicant should be able to apply a methodical approach to identifying issues, working through problems to systematically identify root causes. Reporting to the EUC Team Manager, you will have significant input into technical direction, solution development and operational support around EUC solutions and endpoints, which actively contribute to our customer’s success.
