DSV are recruiting for a Solutions Design Engineer – Global at [Hybrid – Home / Office flexible UK location].
The Role
Reporting to the Global Head of Repair Services, you will work with sales, operations, and solutions teams around the world to provide expert guidance and knowhow to ensure customers’ requirements are successfully translated into complex reverse logistics and product repair solutions which meet the customers’ needs. You will also play a leading role in the implementation of solutions and will support the deployment of the quality tools of APQP into the live operations.
Key Tasks
1. Using LEAN-Sigma principles, you will translate the Voice of The Customer (VOC) into engineered solutions providing customers with product returns and repair services.
2. Solution design will include calculating process capacity, capability along with the required FTE and equipment.
3. In conjunction to LEAN-Sigma tools, you will use AutoCAD to design and draft process layouts which are compliant to the appropriate industrial health and safety (H&S) and ergonomic legislation around the world.
4. You will work with country solutions and operations teams to convert the engineered design into a pricing proposal, and you will support the sales team to present the technical aspects of the solution to the client.
5. Aligned to the customers’ program need date, you will work with the local operations team to implement the solution and to ensure all designed KPIs are met before handoff to the local team.
Skills and Competencies
1. You will possess a university bachelor’s degree (min 2:1) in a Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering related subject.
2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in complex solutions design and project implementations.
3. Certified LEAN-Sigma Green Belt or above.
4. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD (2D) and MS Project.
5. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the manufacturing and repair processes related to the 3C products - Computers, Communication and Consumer Electronics.
6. You will possess impeccable communication and presentation skills and will be adept at articulating complex technical solutions clearly.
7. Able to work calmly and deliver results within demanding deadlines.
8. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Nice to have…
1. Certified Prince 2 or PMP Practitioner.
2. Expert in the use of the tools of APQP, especially PFMEA, Control Plans and GR&R.
