Managing Quantity Surveyor - Planned Maintenance London £85K - £95K Package Property Maintenance About the Opportunity: We are currently working with a well-established and respected contractor in the social housing sector, who are looking to expand their team with an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage major planned works and retrofit projects across London and the Home Counties, making a real difference in the social housing landscape. The Role: As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be taking on a senior leadership role where you'll oversee the financial management of several key projects. Your focus will be on major planned works and retrofit schemes across social housing, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will lead a team of at least 5 quantity surveyors, supporting their development while providing guidance across all stages of project delivery, from cost planning and procurement through to final account settlements. You'll work closely with senior management and clients to deliver projects efficiently and sustainability, with a key focus on cost control, sustainability, and compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of 5 quantity surveyors to deliver projects on budget and within agreed timescales. Oversee the cost planning, procurement, and tendering process for major planned works and retrofit projects in the social housing sector. Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, estimates, and cash flow forecasts. Provide commercial support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the highest standards of financial control. Ensure full compliance with all contractual and legal requirements, with a focus on sustainability and retrofitting standards. Act as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, building and maintaining strong working relationships. Identify risks, manage issues, and resolve disputes efficiently to maintain project delivery. Provide regular, detailed reports to senior management on the financial health of projects. Key Requirements: Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying (RICS accreditation preferred). Proven experience in managing major planned works and retrofit projects, specifically within the social housing sector. A minimum of 5 years' experience leading and managing a team of at least 5 quantity surveyors. Strong knowledge of social housing regulations, sustainability standards, and retrofitting processes. Demonstrable ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining financial control. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using QS software and project management tools. Full UK driving licence, as the role will involve travel across London and the Home Counties.
