About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Homelessness, Independence and Preventative Services, Property Procurement Accommodation Service. Your primary focus will be to ensure the safe operation and upkeep of all Council owned hostel sites. You must be professional, energetic and enthusiastic as we are interested in what you can bring to help us improve and develop our services to support some of our most vulnerable residents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure the safe operation and upkeep of all Council owned hostel sites used for stage one temporary accommodation.
2. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of hostel grounds and communal areas.
3. Conduct minor repairs and regular cleaning duties.
4. Liaise with the repairs team on void hostel units.
5. Carry out regular fire alarm and emergency lights testing.
6. Monitor the wellbeing of vulnerable residents and inform relevant officers of any concerns.
7. Develop knowledge of cleaning techniques and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
8. Work with repairs and planning teams for long-term hostel plans.
About You
1. Extensive knowledge and experience working with vulnerable people and homelessness legislation.
2. Experience managing staff and building trusting relationships.
3. Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse groups.
4. Dynamic decision-maker who adapts to changing needs.
5. Creative problem solver with financial acumen.
6. A Basic DBS check will be required.
