**Full time role**
Our Specialist SEN Branch at Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a school in the centre of Newport to recruit a number of 121 Support Assistants ahead of the Spring term. You will be tasked with providing 121 Support for children who have a wide range of Additional Learning Needs to access learning in a way that best suits them. This school caters for individuals with Additional Needs such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder; including children who are non-verbal and have sensory processing requirements. As we know, the spectrum is diverse so building a relationship with the child will be essential in progressing their Educational, Communicational, Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs.
The Successful 121 Support Assistant will:
Promote the independence, inclusion and equality of children with a sensory impairment/medical needs/behaviour difficulties or communication disorders within a classroom setting.
Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model whilst motivating pupils, promoting and reinforcing self esteem
Assist with the development of the personal needs of Children who have complex needs and those who display behaviour or social challenges and communication difficulties.
