Mechanical Supervisor

The Mechanical Supervisor position is critical in ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. This role requires strong leadership skills, resource management, and effective communication to contribute to overall project success.
Requirements to be an Approved Mechanical Supervisor:
1. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
2. A valid UK Driving Licence.
3. Eligibility to work in the UK.
4. An in-date CSCS card.
5. SSSTS certification.
General Roles and Responsibilities:
6. Assist the Project Manager in planning projects, creating schedules, and managing budgets.
7. Support the Project Manager in drafting RAMS for various jobs.
8. Allocate resources and manpower efficiently.
9. Learn and contribute to the development of project programmes.
10. Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior staff.
11. Complete performance reviews for Apprentices.
12. Manage and track materials, including ordering, overseeing deliveries, and ensuring their efficient use.
13. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
14. Mediate team conflicts and ensure a harmonious work environment.
15. Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager.
16. Oversee the daily management of operatives, including sub-contractors.
17. Issue and manage permits when required.
18. Complete mechanical site safety reports before work begins.
19. Champion safe working practices and ensure engineers adhere to mechanical safety rules.
20. Report daily to the Project Manager.
21. Inspect and assess work throughout the project and upon completion.
22. Ensure project deadlines are met.
23. Diagnose and resolve issues that arise during the project.
24. Collaborate with the team to solve technical challenges.
25. Visit sites to measure and order materials.
26. Hold toolbox talks with the team.
