We are currently looking for someone to join our team as a Customer Facing Shift Supervisor at The Play Shed.
We are an Indoor Soft Play Centre for children up to 10 years old, running and meeting the needs of our customers visiting our play area, our on-site coffee shop, cafe, and attending our parties.

Hours:
1 x Full Time & 1 x Part Time availability, but please note full time requires both weekend days due to the nature of the business and flexibility (this role will require school holiday working).
Must be 18 years and over.
General working hours vary between 9:00am and 6:00pm with a minimum of 1 x 7:45pm finish per week (full time could require 2 exclusive shifts). When we have an exclusive hire, these are rotated between the team, making excellent working patterns with no late nights.
Benefits: No Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Year's Day working required, or late nights.
The ideal candidate will be hard working, friendly, and enthusiastic with a passion for customer care and attention to detail. Experience in leading a team is required, along with knowledge of food safety, as the role oversees the smooth running of the cafe in the delivery of food and party food. Excellent customer service skills and timekeeping are required.
Responsibilities:
* The opening/closing of the centre.
* Serve the general public with admissions and taking food and drink orders.
* Make drinks using the coffee machine.
* Handle cash/card payments.
* Book and host parties.
* Oversee daily parties and coordinate the smooth operation and turnaround of parties.
* Prepare staff rotas, ensuring sickness & parties are covered and managed appropriately.
* Manage staff effectively and efficiently.
* Clean daily as part of the routine and reset for the next session/day; carry out toilet checks.
* Manage the booking systems, opening/closing sessions, and manage capacities.
* Deal with queries from public/customers/staff, verbally, email, Facebook & telephone.
* Be confident in upselling, booking, & delivery of parties/play sessions.
* Manage and diffuse any problems from staffing/customers and equipment.
* Be flexible and prepared to undertake tasks that contribute to the successful day-to-day running of the centre, keeping to time schedules and cleaning schedules.
* Support the kitchen or cover sickness, being responsible for making lunches/party food/drinks for customers (training can be provided).
* Be prepared to be on call and cover last-minute shift cancellations when required on a rotational basis.
* Support & liaise with all staff on the day-to-day events.
* Manage and train staff, ensuring they are focused on providing excellent quality to all customers while maintaining cleanliness and health/safety standards.
* Be competent in computer skills, Excel, and Microsoft (this isn't an office-based role, but computer skills are required).
* Fill in and keep up to date with paperwork such as frame checks, kitchen sheets, toilet checks, daily cleaning, capacities, party plotters, timesheets.
* Follow and train staff on policies and procedures.
* Manage and maintain the gross profit margin.
* Meet Key Performance Indicators.
* Monitor stock levels, ordering, and wastage, keeping budgets in mind, as well as confidence in sourcing products.
* Be responsible for marketing activities & developing new groups/promotions/parties.
* Be responsible for health & safety matters, maintaining & reporting.

Qualifications:
* Must be willing to obtain minimum level 2 Food Hygiene.
* Willingness to undertake First Aid training.
* Must complete a standard DBS check (we will support with obtaining all the above).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £11.44-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 37 per week
