Introduction
The Lead Project Manager(s) for the BBC's Generative AI Programme will play a pivotal role in delivering the BBC's ambitious plans for Generative AI. These roles will be responsible for leading key projects that ensure the BBC makes best use of Generative AI to deliver value to our audiences and staff. Key activities include staff engagement; AI literacy, supporting external engagement, and managing the innovation pipeline to enable the BBC to maximise the value of Generative AI.
Responsibilities
1. Staff engagement: Project manage the development and delivery of the BBC's Generative AI staff engagement activity to increase awareness, understanding and responsible use of Generative AI at the BBC.
2. AI Literacy: Project manage the BBC's AI literacy activities, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
3. Partner support: Work closely with the BBC's partnership, commercial and policy teams to support the delivery of activities that will support the wider creative economy.
4. Market monitoring: Monitor industry trends, emerging policies, and competitive pressures to ensure the BBC is well-positioned in the evolving AI landscape.
5. Innovation: Work closely with the Head of Generative AI Hub to prioritise and accelerate projects that have the most impact; and manage the flow of projects from idea development to prototype and pilot to evaluation.
Are you the right candidate
1. Proven experience in project management within a complex organisation, preferably in media, technology, or innovation-led environments, with demonstrated ability to focus on the task at hand and follow agreed plans and defined objectives.
2. Strong organisational, planning, and delivery skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.
3. Significant experience of project management and ensuring that projects deliver expected benefits, align to organisational strategy and are deliver high quality outputs on time, within scope, and on budget.
4. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrable ability to align teams and drive delivery.
5. Experience in transformation and innovation, particularly in applying new technologies to deliver measurable business impact.
6. Knowledge of Generative AI, emerging media technologies, and the regulatory landscape is highly desirable.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities while maintaining a strategic focus.
