Are you an Automotive Interior Console and Trim Engineer seeking a new opportunity to grow your career? ASL Technical is now working with a leading automotive manufacturer as they look to expand their Interior CPM & Trim Design Lead Engineering team. The role of Interior Console and Trim Engineer focuses on design for customer and manufacture, idea generation, and cost competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Creating and presenting concept sheets to CVE.
2. Explaining changes to cost estimators for budget setting.
3. Estimating design change costs.
4. Providing styling feedback and technical requirements.
5. Managing parts development to meet cost, timing, and delivery specs.
6. Understanding regional regulatory requirements.
7. Developing cost-effective solutions.
8. Coordinating with departments and suppliers.
9. Creating RFQs and reviewing supplier concepts for cost and quality.
10. Analyzing quotes and ensuring they meet needs.
11. Presenting status updates to management.
12. Generating cost reduction ideas and benchmarking.
13. Managing supplier activity and reporting.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
1. Design/engineering qualification.
2. Expertise in global design, supplier management, regulatory performance, test validation, quality reporting, market analysis, and cross-functional teamwork.
3. Knowledge of injection-moulded plastic and pressed metal assemblies.
4. CAD skills and time management.
5. Proactive mindset and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
