Main duties of the job
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, Jonathan Coulter, we are seeking an exceptional Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professions (NMAHPs) to join us as a voting member of the Board. This pivotal role will provide clinical leadership for nursing, midwifery, and AHPs while driving the delivery of our strategic goals, including the best quality, safest care, person-centred integrated care, and innovation.
As an Executive Director of the Board, you will play a key role in ensuring quality of care remains central to every decision. With responsibility for clinical governance, regulatory standards, Safeguarding, Infection Prevention and Control, and Maternity, you will inspire confidence with your expertise and ensure that quality is at the heart of Board discussions. A visible leader and role model for our KITE values--Kindness, Integrity, Teamwork, and Equality--you will champion inclusivity, patient safety, and quality improvement, ensuring our actions align with HDFT's mission and strategy. As a member of the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT), you will contribute to a shared vision of delivering an efficient, sustainable healthcare system across the region, leveraging innovation and best practices to improve outcomes for patients.

* Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife (Level 1 NMC)
* First level Degree or equivalent level of experience
* Masters degree in a relevant management or leadership subject

* Substantial experience of working within an NHS Trust setting at a senior and corporate nursing level
* A successful track record of clinical leadership
* Experience of ensuring quality governance standards
Knowledge and Attributes
