Job Title: Furnace Maintenance and Calibration Technician
Location: Halesowen, West Midlands
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 to 40 hours per week (if covering shifts)
Days: Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 4:00pm; Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Furnace Maintenance and Calibration Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and compliance of all furnaces within our facility. Key responsibilities include:
Daily Tasks:
Check all furnaces are working correctly.
Ensure all qualified furnaces operate within their specifications and sign off the charts.
Maintain a daily log reporting the above.
Attend to and repair any faults that may occur on a furnace.
Weekly Tasks:
Conduct system accuracy tests (SATS) on all qualified furnaces and document the results.
Monthly Tasks:
Perform preventative maintenance checks on a rolling program for all furnaces.
Additional Responsibilities:
Plan and review all furnace instrument calibration, sign certificates, and maintain documentation in a register.
Manufacture, calibrate, and re-calibrate Type R thermocouples and keep records.
Replace Type K thermocouples and maintain records.
Issue calibration certificates for each surveyed furnace and thermocouple, detailing their location, date of issue, and next calibration due.
Maintain all calibration records meticulously.
Qualifications:
Preferably Gas Safe certified.
Electrical bias.
Must have experience with Pyrometry.Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
