Horsforth School is seeking to appoint a passionate and inspirational Teacher of Maths. We are looking for an inspiring teacher who can bring mathematics to life and help us to create a nurturing environment within which everyone can reach their full potential. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT, we would love to hear from you!
The successful candidate will work closely with the curriculum leader and the current maths team, who have a wealth of experience. Our aim is to recruit someone who can add to the team’s current strengths, has the ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of maths amongst our students.
The department has a strong track record for results having 90% of students at GCSE achieving Grades 4 to 9 last academic year and the overall progress 8 figures for the last 3 years are significantly positive. In other words, there’s never been a better time to join us. Results at post-16 are also consistently high with 49% of students attaining A*- A Grades at A Level. We have a strong offer at KS4, running GCSE Statistics alongside as an option subject as well as further maths GCSE, and at A Level we have high uptake, with three A level groups, a Core Maths cohort and a Further Maths group. Therefore, some experience of teaching at KS5 would be beneficial although not essential.
Our vision is ‘Opportunity and Achievement for All’ - creating opportunities and supporting achievement for our students and colleagues alike.
