The NMCs Employer Link Service was set up eight years ago as part of our aim to work more closely with employers of nurses and midwives across the UK. The service is at the forefront of our strategic priority to be a more visible and informed regulator. We are responsible for establishing and maintaining effective regulatory relationships with employers and engaging with other partners and stakeholders across the UK.About the Role
The Employer Link Officer Role plays a vital part supporting the efficient and effective delivery of activity of the Employer Link Service (ELS).The NMCs Employer Link Service was set up as part of our aim to work more closely with employers of nurses and midwives across the UK. The service is at the forefront of our strategic priority to be a more visible and informed regulator. As an Employer Link Officer you will:Often be the first point of contact into the ELS
Need to build constructive relationships with internal and external colleagues offering the highest levels of customer service.
Be responsible for supporting the contact centre in taking and fielding calls to the ELS Advice Line from senior staff in organisations that employ our registrants - these calls can be complex and sensitive in nature
Use your analytical skills to prepare case summaries for Regulation Advisers (RAs)this enables RAs to focus on supporting key contacts to more effectively engage in FtP processes for the benefit of patients, registrants and the NMC,
Support and contribute to a range of projects and initiatives linked to the teams priorities and objectives
Manage the ELS mailbox and correspondence for ELS, including preparing complex correspondence and monitoring response
Provide information, where appropriate to internal and external stakeholders about the role and remit of ELS.
Be responsible for using large complex datasets to produce regular reports to support the teams targeted activity

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to deal confidently and diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent IT skills, with experience of analysing complex datasets to produce reports,
The ability to deal with a high workload and pressurised environment, including prioritising conflicting demands.
Experience of following, reviewing and developing standard operating procedures in line with good governance processes.
The ability to show sensitivity and tact when identifying and working with customer needs and confidential information.

It is expected that staff new to the NMC will ordinarily be appointed to the bottom of the relevant pay band. However in exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a salary above the bottom of the relevant pay band but we may request proof of current earnings. Please note that we offer an annual review of salaries and adopt a generous progressive pay approach.
