About the Role
Due to significant growth and development, we are looking to expand our team of Machine/Process Operators. We are a leading manufacturer of plastic pipe for agriculture, construction and utilities; and have multiple plants across New Zealand. Our Ashburton plant is looking for an Operator in a department which offers excellent training and progression. This role is based on a 10 hour working day (40 hour week in total) and the hours are 03:30PM - 01:30AM meaning you can enjoy a three day weekend! There is potential for some overtime hours too.
Role Requirements:
* Setting up, monitoring & operating plastic pipe manufacturing machines
* Operating controls to regulate temperature, pressure, speed and flow of operation
* Conducting quality assurance processes to ensure product standards
* Monitor configurations and products to ensure machines are fully utilised
* Use a variety of hand tools such as pneumatic wrenches and small trimming tools
* Work from SOP's
Personal Attributes:
* Mechanical aptitude to form a basic understanding of the machines
* Previous experience using simple hand tools such as air guns, drills, impact wrenches etc
* Good communication and able to work in a multicultural team environment
* Thorough with good attention to detail
* Must proactively follow all Health and Safety requirements and ensure relevant PPE is worn at all times
* Self-motivated and proactive
* Interested in learning new things
* Physically able (as there will be some lifting required up to 25KG)
* Keen attitude to learn and get involved
* Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
* Forklift license would be preferred, however this is not essential
