About Hertford Regional College
Hertford Regional College is a vibrant, dynamic further education college with campuses in Broxbourne, providing a wide range of post-16 professional and technical education and training to meet the needs of local employers in key sectors and discrete provision for learners with high needs, higher education, and commercial programmes. The large majority of the College’s learners live in Broxbourne, East Herts, London Borough of Enfield, Epping Forest, and Harlow.
The Role
With ambitious plans for the College’s future, the Board is key in steering its strategic direction, ensuring financial stability, high-quality education and skills, and its engagement with its community to meet the needs of students, employers, and the local, regional, and national economy. We are looking for new Members to join our Board.
Time Commitment
Preparations for and attendance at meetings and the Board’s one-day Annual Conference is required. The Board meets four times a year, and attendance on-site is required. Supported by a committee structure focused on the business-critical aspects of College operations, all members are also expected to join at least one committee aligned with their professional expertise and experience, which meet 3-4 times a year. Meetings are online.
Appointments are for a term of four years.

Who we are looking for
We seek enthusiastic, talented individuals who can add value to discussions and provide support and constructive challenge to our leadership. We particularly welcome interest from professionally qualified individuals with substantial leadership experience in Accountancy. An understanding of the Hertfordshire area is also critical, either through having lived or worked here. While having non-executive/board-level experience is desirable, greater value is placed on your ability and overall experience.
We encourage candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds who will bring a mix of skills and perspectives to our Board, ensuring we remain reflective of and diverse as our communities. Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, the successful candidate(s) will also be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
