Role Summary Leadership of technical solutions underpinning Maximus’ propositions and bids, working alongside sales leads so that our offers are differentiated, innovative, deliverable and profitable. They will work on the most complex opportunities in the pipeline (>£100m TCV), using their experience of working across all architecture domains. This is a senior consultative, client-facing role that will simply and clearly articulate technology solutions, how they will realise the required business capabilities, and provide business value to the client and end user. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead on all client-facing technology and architecture dialogue, as a key member of the bid senior team. Deliver client-facing presentations as needed within the sales cycle. • Conduct Capability Modelling Workshops and Analysis for Bids and new business strategies: Lead workshops with the business, Vendors and Technology team experts stakeholders to develop capability models that map out the Organisations current and desired capabilities, identifying areas for technology-enabled transformation. Use AI to further refine and develop these models. • Technology Bid Response Development: Engage early in the bid capture process and work closely with the Business Development team and wider technology team to develop differentiating technology solutions for bid responses. Ensuring re-using existing technologies whenever possible but also appropriate new technologies, that are innovative, cost-effective, deliverable at pace aligned with client needs, Maximus' capabilities and adhere to Maximus architectural standards. Documenting and presenting these technology solutions to stakeholders and within bids that is clearly understood and articulates the value and impact on the service solution. The proposed technology solutions to be architected, costed and planned assuring deliverability and affordability working in collaboration with the Technology team and to fully comply with Architecture and Portfolio governance processes. • Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to advise on potential impacts and benefits to current and future bids in the pipeline. Lead demonstrations and proof of concepts to build client confidence during the sales cycle. • Design Reusable Architecture Patterns and adhere to Governance Frameworks: Develop flexible, reusable and scalable enterprise-wide architecture patterns that integrate business processes, information flows, and technology infrastructure, supporting the organization's strategic objectives. Adhere to architecture principles, standards, and Technology governance processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and the minimization of IT risks across Maximus. • Lead Technology Selection Process for Bids: Oversee the evaluation and selection of technology solutions for Bids ensuring they align with the enterprise architecture strategy and meet the organisations, needs for scalability and re-usability and Technology strategic principles including security, data privacy and cost effectiveness. • Guide and mentor Presales Technical Architects and other Technology staff in best practices for architecture design and implementation by active participation in the Architecture community of practice in the UK and wider in Maximus Technology team Qualifications & Experience Essential • Degree level or equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job • >5yrs experience of architecting complex technology solutions and propositions in BPO sales contexts especially in Government, Local Government, Health supporting deal values >100m TCV • UK public sector sales lifecycle experience - reviewing client specifications and contract schedules, creating coherent and differentiated bid responses, running internal technical workstreams, leading formal client dialogue sessions, managing supporting technology partners • Technology Experience: Extensive and demonstrable experience in all aspects of technology particularly in SaaS models, Cloud technologies. A significant portion of that time spent in senior architecture roles and delivering Solutions for business strategies and large and complex BPO bids • Strategic Planning and Vision: Demonstrated ability to develop Technology Strategies and Visions that align with and support business, client objectives and customer needs. Experience in creating roadmaps, capability models, and creating impactful contributions to bids • Architecture Design and Development: Hands-on experience in designing and developing architecture and capability models that integrate business processes, information, and technology in innovative ways. This includes experience with various architecture frameworks and tools • Technology Evaluation and Selection for Bids: A track record of successfully evaluating and selecting fit for purpose technology solutions that support Bid requirements and that align with the enterprise architecture strategy • Innovation and Emerging Technologies: A history of identifying and assessing emerging technologies for potential adoption to drive innovation and competitive advantage into Bid proposals. Desirable • Governance and Standards: Experience in establishing and enforcing architecture principles, standards, and governance processes to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization • Mentoring / coaching: Experience in mentoring and assuring less experienced technical architects to develop individuals and improve performance Individual Competencies • Ability to work independently to objectives without close supervision and manage multiple high priority pieces of work in parallel • Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand the organization's vision and business needs and develop Technology strategies that align with these goals. This includes the capacity to anticipate future technology trends and their potential impact on the business or future bids • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work consultatively with public sector clients and external partners to explore business challenges/opportunities and articulate complex technical concepts. Be able to articulate the value technologies can bring in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences to contribute to bids, through dialogue, workshops, and via writing high quality method statements • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate complex information from various sources, identify relationships and patterns, and make informed decisions based on thorough analysis • Problem-Solving: Proficiency in identifying problems, analysing root causes, and developing effective solutions that address underlying issues and align with the organization's strategic objectives • Collaboration and Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with and influence business leaders, IT teams, and external partners. This includes fostering a collaborative environment and building consensus among stakeholders with diverse perspectives • Innovation and Creativity: Capacity to think creatively and identify innovative solutions that leverage technology to address business challenges, improve efficiency, and drive competitive advantage • Ethical Judgment and Integrity: Demonstrating ethical standards and integrity in all actions and decisions.
