Your New Position
As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective planning of transport operations. You will work closely with the Transport and Warehouse teams to create an optimised transport plan using the latest Transport Management System (TMS). Your ability to manage and plan orders from multiple sites across the UK, along with your proactive approach to continuous improvement, will be key to your success in this role.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Collaborating with Transport and Warehouse teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
· Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK.
· Planning the daily workload of fleet vehicles based on site and out bases.
· Reporting problems, dealing with issues, and addressing any queries that may arise.
· Planning collections per day on a time-critical basis.
· Maintaining and exceeding agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
· Proactively seeking continuous improvements.
· Making decisions under pressure and within tight timescales.
· Adopting a flexible and adaptable approach to meet business requirements, especially during peak periods.
Requirements for Success
To apply for the role of Transport Planner, you will possess the following skills, experiences, and qualifications:
· Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
· Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is desirable but not required.
· Experience in planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to succeed in a pressurised environment.
· A strong customer focus on delivery performance.
· Commercial and financial acumen, with a drive to deliver exceptional results.
· Experience using a TMS system.
· Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, including standard formulas.
· 4on 4off and must be available to work on the weekends.
