Gas turbine - compressor design engineer
Be at the forefront of exciting revolutionary technologies that will transform the aviation industry. Contribute to design and development programs involving advanced technologies ranging from open-rotor gas turbine, compact high-pressure core, and hybrid-electric architecture to compatibility with alternative fuels and new materials. The low-pressure compressor and booster module design will play a significant role in the realization of these cutting-edge technology demonstrators.
You will be capable of executing design and development projects, providing technical guidance and oversight, ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams in requirements capture and execution, and staying updated on emerging technologies, designs, and manufacturing methods. A seasoned problem solver, you will conduct analyses and contribute to innovating in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
Work Experience
Demonstrable experience in gas turbine low pressure compressor design and analyses in the following areas:
1. Design and modification of key aeroengine two-spool low pressure compressor components such as discs, statics, aerofoils, seals, and attaching parts.
2. Certification reports, design record book and definition solutions accounting for layouts, clash checks, materials, weights, and tolerances.
3. Execution of conceptual design in cross-functional teams.
4. Design trade studies iterating existing architecture to form design improvements and incremental gains in performance, materials, weight, cost, aero and thermal properties across the compressor and turbine.
