Mansfield Road Baptist Housing Association Ltd specifically provides accommodation for elderly people within the Nottingham area. The Association was formed in 1968 and has grown over the years. It now houses over 120 tenants in its four schemes of warden-aided apartments.
We’re now seeking a Housing Association Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Association, promoting a caring environment for tenants and staff through high standards of professional practice.
Managing a team of 4 resident Scheme Managers, you will ensure the daily needs of the tenants are met and encourage activities, for tenants, that will enhance their quality of life. You will run the reletting process for properties, maintaining waiting lists for each scheme, inspecting vacant apartments and organising redecoration and repairs as required. You will work with relevant Scheme Committees to ensure vacant apartments are allocated according to the Associations procedures, whilst preparing tenancy documents and standing order forms.
As the Housing Association Manager you will work with external contractors to ensure that all our schemes are maintained to a high standard. You will also set the annual rent increase in line with the Regulator of Social Housing’s guidance, increase service charges in line with increased costs and prepare costings for major repairs, improvements, and cyclical maintenance projects. As Housing Association Manager, you will also attend Scheme Committee meetings, take minutes, and prepare reports for Board meetings which take place every two months.
We’d like our Association Manager to be a natural leader – someone who has experience of working with elderly/vulnerable clients, in the private or social housing sector. With a friendly and confident manner, you will have experience of setting and managing budgets, procurement and managing contractors and third-party suppliers, as well as managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Confident and professional, you will understand legislation and regulations relating to Social Housing and be able to identify risks of non-compliance. With a positive attitude towards customer care, you will be flexible and adaptable, able to think strategically about how the Association can move forward.
