Job overview
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to Rheumatology patients’ pathway of care for remote blood monitoring. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients on a remote monitoring pathway are managed smoothly. The post holder will also work closely with the Rheumatology CNSs and Consultants to support robust monitoring of the patient's remote monitoring of their condition and act accordingly to the specialty instructions and SOPs.
Main duties of the job
* Ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer-focused and knowledgeable point of contact.
* Provide a consistent approach across the Trust, ensuring that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales, as per SOPs.
* Demonstrate polite, clear, accurate advice line support for patients and document all communication on EPR and DAWN.
* Work autonomously and seek help from clinicians when appropriate.
Person specification
Education/ Qualifications/ Training:
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C
* Accurate data entry, typing and analytical skills
* Experience of working with patients and providing information regarding their appointments or treatment plan
* Significant experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel or patient monitoring IT application
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
* Experience of working in the NHS healthcare administrative system and process
Skills & Abilities
* Polite, clear and accurate telephone manners
* Excellent communication skills with particular ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members and patients
* Ability to demonstrate motivation to learn, develop and progress
* Excellent timekeeping and management
* Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times
* Understanding and ability to liaise with Primary Care, GP and community services
