The Role:
As a Transaction Monitoring Analyst, the successful candidate will be a key control to protect against money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud, analysing and investigating alerts relating to private and corporate customer activity.
What you’ll be doing day to day:
Key responsibilities include:
1. Monitoring the transaction monitoring systems and queues for alerts on a regular basis throughout the working day, ensuring team leaders are aware of outstanding alerts at the end of each day.
2. Conducting Enhanced Due Diligence on clients and transactions.
3. Reviewing customer activity on a periodic and event-driven basis.
4. Where there are grounds for suspicion, escalating concerns through filing internal SAR reports.
5. Engaging with relevant stakeholders including front-office relationship managers.
6. Creating and maintaining accurate and concise records of all investigations undertaken including details on the rationale for any decisions made.
7. Assisting with the preparation of accurate Management Information.
8. Providing input to the ongoing development and maintenance of the departmental procedures.
9. Providing advice and support to the wider business on the identification of areas of risk or new trends/typologies because of transaction monitoring activities.
10. Any other associated duties required from time to time to meet the departmental responsibilities and goals.
