Job Summary
MTS Logistics are a fast-growing business, specialising in general haulage and warehousing solutions. We operate a fleet of over 100 assets on the road and have 3 units of warehousing storage. We are seeking a Head of Finance to join our team.
Responsibilities
* Head up a management accounts team including management of two Assistant Management Accountants and one Payroll and Treasury Accountant.
* Responsible for the finance systems, processes, reporting and internal audit.
* Identify, recommend, and implement automation and efficiencies of processes.
* Development and production of weekly KPIs and follow up of variances/anomalies.
* Implementation of a month end and year end management accounts process.
* Establish a month end reporting process and train the team in its completion.
* Reconcile weekly KPIs to the month end results.
* Balance sheet reconciliations completed monthly or as required.
* VAT returns completed for all businesses.
* Payroll review and sign off.
* Work with external advisors for completion of statutory requirements including annual financial statements and completion of the audit and annual tax returns.
* Any other task required by the business.
Qualifications and Skills
* Qualifications – AAT qualified (minimum), preferably CIMA (qualified or part qualified).
* Experience in the logistics industry ideal but not essential.
* Excellent Excel skills required; knowledge of Power BI desirable.
* Demonstrable experience of system implementation and process automation/improvements.
* Enjoys using technology, utilising systems fully to get maximum efficiency.
* Process-oriented, methodical approach to tasks, conscious of deadlines.
* Excellent work ethic and a willingness to learn.
* Positive attitude, curious mindset.
* Ability to work under own initiative, while comfortable to question anything that looks odd or inefficient, ask for help when needed, and suggest improvements.
* Take ownership of allocated tasks.
* Team player, shares information.
* Enthusiasm to improve own skillset and enhance company performance/culture.
This role is based on site at Bardon. This position is advertised as full-time; however, we would be willing to discuss a 9-day fortnight or 4-day week for the right candidate.

Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
