Cambian Meridais a 22 bedded childrens residential service which is split into 5 individual homes including an education provision through Cambian Dunbroch school located on the same site. The residential homes cater for young people age 12 18 years oldswith on-going mental health needs and challengingbehavioursthat may prevent them from functioning within the community without continued therapeutic support. Job Role You will be providing Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions within an Ofsted registered specialist residential services for young people with complex mental health needs. This is atherapeutic children residential caresetting where you will be working alongside Psychiatry, Psychologists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Educators, Practice Nurse, Therapeutic Practitioners and Residential Care Workers. Working as part of amulti professionalclinical team, you will be responsible forassessmentof an individuals Occupational Therapy needs, and delivery of 1:1 and group interventions. You will be given the opportunity to develop management and supervision skills, whilst taking responsibility for supervision of Occupational Therapy assistants already in post. Alongsidethisyou will also be providing training, supportandconsultation to the team working with the young person. This includes key workers within thehome,and teaching staff within theservice specificeducation provision. As a developingservicethere will also be active involvement in the development of theCambianOccupational Therapy service to ensure this isevidencebased,and is able to meet the needs of the young people. Other responsibilities will include attendance atchild focusedmeetings, including CMAPmeetings, LAC reviews, report writing, training delivery, liaising with external agencies as required, and contributing to risk management plans and placement plans. Candidate Profile We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated,forward thinkingoccupational therapist to join our friendly team. Essential: BSc or anMscin Occupational Therapy Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Registered with COT Demonstrate an interest in service development Have alicenceand access to own transport. Be a strong team player. Have excellent communication,organisationaland time management skills. You will provide quality assessments and interventions within the Model of Human Occupation. Beneficial: Experience in working with children & adolescents is advantageous.
