I am currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer / Sourcing Manager to join a leading national retailer within their Commercial team in the central office in North London.
You will be responsible for driving the Buying strategy to ensure growth in both sales & profitability while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued development within the own brand buying department. As a Sourcing Manager, some of your duties will include:
* Take full end to end ownership of the commercial & sourcing strategy for the cost of goods sold (COGS) for own brand categories.
* Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
* Understand key cost drivers (and impacts) within your category and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
* Full responsibility for negotiation of cost price increases and ensuring timelines are communicated throughout the process.
* Continue to work collaboratively with current suppliers on reducing COGS and expanding range opportunities.
* Maintain outstanding levels of supplier service and work seamlessly with internal departments to resolve any issues promptly.
* Always seek new suppliers to deliver a stronger commercial offer than current suppliers, or to supply new/alternate products and categories to the business.
* Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines with the own brand team.
* Working closely with the new product development teams to maintain quality levels within products.
* Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team.
Key requirements for the role:
* Proven previous Buying / Procurement / Sourcing experience within a fast-moving FMCG / Food environment.
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
* Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced, ever-changing retail market.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
* Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
