The role We’re now looking for a motivated & experienced PMO Lead to join the Jensten Group, based from our Oldham office (we will also consider remote working for the right person). The main purpose of the role is to oversee the Project Management Office, to ensure that projects across the organisation are managed effectively and align with strategic goals. This role involves continually improving project governance frameworks, optimising resource allocation, and supporting Project Managers in executing projects successfully. The PMO Lead will act as a central point of contact for project oversight, process improvements, and performance reporting. Reporting to the Change Director, some key objectives & responsibilities will include: Strategic Alignment and Governance: Develop and implement the PMO framework, methodologies, and best practices. Also establish project governance policies to ensure consistent project delivery standards. Project Oversight and Support: Oversee the progress of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to scope. Provide guidance to project managers, facilitating the removal of roadblocks and offering expertise on complex projects. Resource Management: Manage resource allocation across projects to optimise utilisation and capacity planning. Implement and oversee resource management tools and systems to enhance project efficiency. Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve project management processes, tools, and templates to drive efficiency. Lead training and mentorship programs to develop project management competencies within the team. Risk Management: Work with project managers to risk develop mitigation strategies. Report portfolio level and high impact risks into COO and Group Risk reporting framework Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, performance metrics, and PMO effectiveness. Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards for executive review. About you As our PMO Lead, you’ll have a strong teamwork ethic, communication, and collaborative skills with a keen eye for detail. Being well organised and being able to naturally prioritise tasks in order of importance/ relevance, you’ll have strong evidence of helping to deliver projects on time. You’ll also be or have: Experience as a PMO Lead or a similar role (ideally in the Insurance/ Financial Services industry) PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management / PMO certification preferred. Agile certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe) an advantage. Strong leadership and team management skills to guide the PMO and project teams. Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) and tools. Strong problem-solving abilities with an aptitude for data analysis and performance tracking. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at presenting complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Effective stakeholder management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. Familiarity with project management software (e.g Smartsheet) and resource management tools (e.g. Resource Guru).
