“Abertay aims to enhance the quality of life in our communities”
Due to the forthcoming retirement of longstanding Board Members, Abertay Housing Association is aiming to recruit three Board Members to join the Association’s very committed, disciplined, diverse and successful Board.
The Association’s governance structure consists of:
* The Board
* The Audit Finance and Risk Management Committee
* The Asset Management and Development Committee
The Board meets at least six times per year and the Committees meet at least four times per year. The Schedule of Meetings for 2024/25 and 2025/26 forms part of the Recruitment Information.
Board Member and Committee Member positions are voluntary and unpaid. However, Members are reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred whilst acting in the capacity as a Board or Committee Member.
The principal functions of the Board are to ensure, in accordance with the Scottish Housing Regulator’s Regulatory Framework, that the Association continues to be well governed, remains financially strong, and approves and monitors the Association’s Business Plan.
The Association is committed to the principles of equality and diversity and would warmly welcome interest from candidates from a wide range of backgrounds who are committed to the Association’s objectives.
While it would be desirable to have knowledge and experience in one of the following disciplines: financial management, property development, property and housing management, or customer services, it is not essential. What is essential is that you are committed to the Association’s objectives and enthusiastic about enhancing the quality of life in our communities.
The Association’s Chief Executive said ‘if you are enthusiastic and have an inquisitive mind and a social heart, you will love being a Board Member and being part of the Association’s existing Board.’
