Salary: £72,975 - £84,333 per annum

Thurrock Council is looking for a credible and dynamic leader to join our Children's Social Care Leadership Team as Head of Service for CIN/CP and Safeguarding. The successful applicant will have a track record of driving improvement and delivering excellent outcomes for Children and Young People.
As the Head of Service, you will be responsible for the range of services for our children including MASH, Assessment Teams, Out of Hours Service, Court Proceedings, and Child in Need and Child Protection Teams. You will also have responsibility for leading on Child Exploitation and Domestic Violence.
You will be responsible for the budgets across the service. You will be joining an experienced and committed team who are entirely focused on achieving the best outcomes for children in Thurrock.

To be successful in Thurrock and make a real difference to our Children and Young People, you will bring a track record of influencing positive change and in-depth knowledge of the health and social care landscape. Your resilience and passion will be matched by your ability to work collaboratively and positively with partners and stakeholders.
Given the importance of the Children's Services in Thurrock, you will need to develop your credibility with elected members quickly, and you will thrive on contributing to ensuring Thurrock remains 'Good' whilst being ambitious for 'Outstanding' services.
