Job Description
As Seating & Restraints Project Engineer your main responsibilities are:
1. Project Engineer to join the body interior team to work specifically on seating and restraints.
2. Reporting to the Principal Engineer you will undertake technical project management & engineering of seats & restraints.
3. Support the introduction of new features to current and future programmes.
4. Management of component and system level delivery at each project milestone, from styling feasibility through series production, interacting daily with the concept, styling and Purchasing teams.
5. Manage and cultivate a technical relationship with a global supplier base to deliver new features on time, to a cost, and within quality and functional specifications.
6. Support technical layout, package and ergonomic study for seat module.
7. Manage and deliver bill of materials costs, investment and weight for responsible component and system.
Qualifications / Skills required
1. CATIA V5 2D/3D skills.
2. Previous experience in OEM or tier one in technical delivery in the automotive industry would be advantageous.
3. Manage and deliver DFMEA, Engineering statements of work, engineering release, concerns resolution and DVP, and support the development and release of the project.
4. Knowledge of interior technical parameters and specifications and ideally seating & restraints.
5. Materials Knowledge with basic understanding of metal, foam, plastics and composites.
