About the Role:
In our Residential Family Centre in Barnsley, we conduct comprehensive, evidence-based parenting assessments within a nurturing environment. Our focus is on parents with various challenges that may pose risks to their children, including:
* Parents with a history of substance misuse.
* Families affected by domestic abuse.
* Young and inexperienced parents, particularly those who are care leavers or first-time parents.
* Parents with learning disabilities or difficulties.
* Parents managing mental health issues.
Core Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team, supporting the Registered Manager to provide outstanding service.
* Work alongside our in-house social worker to ensure accurate information for the assessment process.
* Maintain detailed observations of families, documenting progress and challenges.
* Audit and provide feedback to support workers.
* Keep accurate electronic records reflecting families’ development and incidents.
* Proactively identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
* Ensure all paperwork is completed and filed, in line with Ofsted regulations.
* Act as a positive role model to inspire and guide parents.
* Supervise and appraise all staff, leading staff meetings and group sessions.
* Advise and instruct parents on essential parenting techniques.
* Ensure the well-being of children is prioritized and safeguarded.
* Deliver training and development sessions to staff and families.
* Conduct safe recruitment practices.
* Participate in on-call duties as per rota.

Minimum Requirements:
* Relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People's Workforce or equivalent).
* Willingness to work toward level 4 and 5 qualifications.
* Experience: 2 years in Children and Family Experience (preferred).
* 1 year as DSL in your most recent role.
* An Enhanced Adult & Children DBS on the update service is preferred.
* Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
